A Instructor grades a Free Response question in a Quiz |
The notification will trigger for a user 30 minutes after the instructor marked one of their answers as correct/incorrect. Even if other questions are graded in the 30 minute window after the 1st one is graded, no other notifications should be sent. A notification will be sent if another question is graded for that user’s quiz after 30 minutes |

FAQs
When will admins/analysts/users be notified that a Lesson/Quiz has been made visible to them?
Answer: Persons will be notified anytime a Lesson/Quiz is assigned to them via adding a User Group/Individual to a Lesson/Quiz . Assigned means the user is attached to Lesson via User Group or as Individual. So if you add a user group to a Lesson, they receive a notification. If you remove them and then add the user group back later, they receive another notification. The notification is based on the action of assignment and does not consider completion statuses in determining whether a notification is dispatched or not.
Exception: When User Group A is added to Lesson Z, all users in User Group A receive a notification. Later, User B is added to User Group A. User B does not receive notifications for all Lessons/Quizzes he now belongs to because this would be obnoxious
What happens if you make a L/Q visible to a group but uncheck the “Send Notifications” box… but later you come back to the same modal, select the notification box, and click “save” … does that original group receive a notification?
Answer: No, the original group does not receive a notification. This is because users/groups are only notified at the point at which content becomes visible to them. In this case, the content had already been made visible to them prior to an instructor clicking “save” so it would not have triggered a notification at this later point in time. The L/Q would have to either be hidden and made visible again, or the User Group would have to be removed and then re-added to the L/Q for a notification to be triggered for the original group.
