Learn about Certificates and Minimum Passing Score
Watch this tutorial video for an overview on Certificates and Minimum Passing Score in lessons and quizzes.
Note: Certificates and minimum passing score must be enabled by a Learn to Win member from our SuperAdmin portal in order to have the ability to enable certificates and minimum passing score.
For more information and/or pricing for certificates, reach out to your CSM, sales representative, or click this link.
Lesson Certificates
To turn on certificates for lessons, navigate to the Exit Slide of an existing or newly created lesson.
There, you will see a checkbox that will allow you to turn on certificates for your learners. When the box is checked, your learners will be emailed a certificate of completion once their lesson is completed.
Users will see a notification of their certificate before starting a lesson and once a lesson is completed, only if that feature is enabled.
Note: Unless you have worked with your Customer Success Manager to create a custom certificate, the certificate will have your company's logo as the image and the title of the lesson as the title of the certificate. Ensure your title is no longer than 36 characters to ensure it will fit completely within the certificate. Avoid using special characters/symbols in the title and subtitle of your lesson.
Quiz Certificates and Minimum Passing Score
In a quiz, admin have the option to turn on Quiz Retakes, Certificates, and enable Minimum Passing Score.
Quiz Retakes
Quiz retakes can be turned on regardless of minimum passing score or certificates. This feature allows your learner to retake a quiz.
Users will be notified that they are allowed quiz retakes upon entering and completing that quiz.
Minimum Passing Score
Minimum Passing Score can be enabled on a quiz which allows admin to set a percentage correct that users must achieve to pass the quiz.
This feature automatically enables Quiz Retakes. This feature also makes it so that Quiz Retakes cannot be turned off. Enabling Minimum Passing Score provides your learner with automatic and infinite retakes until the passing score is achieved.
Users will be notified of the set Minimum Passing Score upon entering the quiz and will be notified if they achieved that score or not at the end of the quiz. If the score is not reached, they will be prompted to complete a quiz retake.
Certificates
Certificates get turned on in quizzes the same way they are enabled in lessons. On the Exit Slide of a quiz, you will be able to check Certificates on and off.
Certificates can be enabled whether or not Minimum Passing Score or Quiz Retakes are enabled.
If Certificates are enabled WITH Minimum Passing Score, learners will not receive their certificate until they achieve that passing score. Learners will be notified of this at the start of a quiz.
If Certificates are enabled WITHOUT Minimum Passing Score, learners will receive a completion certificate after completing the quiz, regardless of their score.
What Learners See
After a learner completes/passes a lesson or quiz that has certificates turned on, they will receive an email with the link to their badge and certificate.
The email will contain the name of the lesson or quiz as well as the link to their badge and certificate.
After clicking the link in the email, learners will be taken to their badge page. This page will have the user's name, the badge, date issued, and a link to the actual certificate.
Learners are able to click on the link of their certificate which will open a PDF version of their certificate. The certificate includes company logo, the name of the lesson/quiz, learner's name, date issues, certified badge link, as well as a validation QR code.
